How you can help
What can you do to help?
There are a number of different ways you can get involved in making a real difference to the lives of those struggling with personal debt. Here are a few of the options you may wish to consider:
Setup a face-to-face debt advice centre
CMA is able to advise, support, train and guide you through the whole setup process and beyond.
Train to become a debt adviser at your local advice centre or volunteer to help out in whatever capacity you feel comfortable with.
Contact CMA [email protected] or visit our Find a Centre page to locate your nearest centre
Become a ‘budget coach’ and run local 'learn to budget' sessions
CMA has bespoke budget coach training available to anyone, even those with little or previous experience of budgeting or budget coaching.
Provide a signposting or support service for those in need
Giving face to face debt advice may seem daunting for some. Nevertheless offering to sit with someone and help them access web or telephone advice or going with someone whilst getting face-to-face advice can be of real value.
Contact CMA on [email protected] to find out how you can get involved in offering this sort of service
Give to or raise funds for Community Money Advice
CMA is able to use every penny it receives to help set up face to face debt advice centres across the UK. We are very grateful for the generous donations CMA has received over the years as they have enabled thousands of families to find freedom from debt and given them real hope for the future.
