Community Money Advice Training

Training has always been at the heart of our services, with the aim of taking individuals with little or no experience of supporting clients with debt problems, to a place where they have a good understanding of the processes involved in unlocking debt issues.

Our training helps individuals gain an in-depth knowledge of the tools available to be a Debt Adviser, to help them find sustainable solutions for each presenting situation and to support each client with budgeting education, in order to help them remain debt free, giving them real hope for the future.

Over the years CMA has written, rewritten, adapted and added to our training programme, culminating in achieving:

  • CMA Level 3 Award in Generalist Debt Advice (MaPS accredited at Advice Level)
  • CMA Level 4 Award in Casework/Specialist Debt Advice (MaPS accredited at Casework/Specialist)

For those wishing to support clients who may be struggling to make ends meet, we have a Budget Coach Training course which will equip budget coaches to support individuals and families to work within a budget and live within their means.

CMA Connect centres allow individuals to operate as Money Mentors, offering budgeting support, collecting and collating the client's financial information  and referring the regulated debt advice to CMA's team of Hub Debt Advisers.

CMA’s team of trainers are based all over the UK and have visited numerous locations, delivered hundreds of training days and taken thousands of delegates through the different courses. They have had the enormous satisfaction of seeing those attending our training make a real difference in people’s lives by giving advice / support within their local advice centres.

Please note that the CMA INSOLVENCY TRAINING DAY is now the "Casework/Specialist Training Part 6"

Hosting Training Days

Most of the CMA training days are being delivered remotely via Zoom but face-to-face training can be requested.

If you would like to host a CMA training day, we will always do our best to meet your requirements and provide training at your venue.

In order to get the most out of a training day, we usually prefer to have a group of 8 or more trainees attending. However if you have less than 8 people, we may well be able to arrange training depending on various factors which we will discuss with you. Our training days are usually advertised on our website where bookings can be made from other CMA centres / non-affiliate organisations, helping to make up the number of delegates attending, if required to make the day run.

If you would like to arrange face-to-face training please read the CMA Training Face to Face Booking Guide & Cancellation Policy and then complete the CMA Training Booking Form and email it to: [email protected]

If you would like to discuss your requirements before completing the booking form, or have a general enquiry about CMA training please email us at: [email protected]
