Set against record levels of personal debt, COVID-19 has had a devastating impact on household finances with 59% of households saying they have lost their income and will need to borrow to get through the crisis and 26% of personal loans applied for in the past 30 days needed for household food costs. The situation facing families and households in our communities is deeply concerning and we believe churches will need to play a vital role in helping people over the next few years.
