CMA Launches 2025 Impact Report

Impact Report 2025

2025 was a tough year for many as the cost-of-living crisis continued. Millions of households were trapped in debt due to insufficient income and negative budgets; many struggling with physical and mental health conditions, caused or exacerbated by poverty and pressure from creditors.

It was also a difficult year for CMA and many of our centres: need and costs increased whilst donations were down and funding pots stretched beyond capacity.

Yet, in the midst of these challenges, CMA’s network of 137 centres helped 7377 people start their journey out of debt. Providing local, face to face advice for as long as required, CMA centres managed a staggering £75,927,439 of debt and helped thousands of clients get their lives back.

Our 2025 report unpacks our work and illuminates the incredible achievements of clients and advisers through statistics and client stories, like that of Stella*.

“I remember the first thing Richard said, ‘We can support you; we can stop the letters.’ But debt advice gave me so much more; food in my cupboard, sound sleep at night, money for nice things like a haircut. It gave me my life back.”

The work of local centres with clients like Stella is undergirded by CMA’s central team. CMA provides operations support, training and undertakes policy work and campaigning. With our partner Christians Against Poverty (CAP) and other sector bodies, we press for liveable incomes and reform in areas such as council tax collection and enforcement.

Read the report now to discover how we are equipping community-based groups to help people find freedom from debt.
