CMA Generalist Training

Money Advice Service Accreditation

The Community Money Advice (CMA) training programme has been accredited by the Money Advice Service (MAS) and from April 2016 all advisers commencing work within a CMA centre, will complete the full CMA accredited training programme.

This training proramme is also open to anyone who does not work in a CMA centre. Please contact us here for more details.

In order to complete the programme, the adviser will attend all 3 training days (as detailed below) as well as completing the in-house training which comprises Listening Skills and Role Play and there is an 18 month period in which to complete these five elements. Following the Part 2 training day, there will be an online assessment of 30 multiple choice questions which must be passed before attending the Part 3 training day. Following the Part 3 training, there will be a final assessment of 20 multiple choice questions which once passed, means the adviser have completed MAS accredited training. Each assessment needs to have 75% correct answers and three attempts are allowed within a 2 month period. The manager of the CMA centre will be able to give you more details about how this works.

Anyone can book onto and attend the Generalist Training Days below, gaining valuable knowledge about debt advice, perhaps with a view to working in an advice setting. If you would like to know more about how to work in a CMA centre or if you would like to talk to us about setting up a CMA centre in your area, please contact us.

Joining Instructions

We send joining instructions one week before the date of the training day. So even if your booking has been made weeks or months before the date, you won't receive the joining instructions until one week before the date. This is because we should have a definite list of delegates by then and be able to send the joining instructions to all the delegates at the same time. If you need to know the address of the venue to decide whether it is a location you can get to or for travelling arrangements, please email [email protected] and we will send you the address and postcode

If you have booked onto a training day and you haven't received your joining instructions within 5 days of the training day date, please email [email protected]
