Need help with debt or money problems?
Please contact your local CMA centre using the Map or List of centres. (Please note that CMA does not offer money advice direct from its head office).
All CMA centres adhere to certain basic principles, including the following:
- Advice is completely free to the client
- Advice is unconditional & completely confidential
Please read our client stories to see how CMA centres' clients have seen their money problems resolved and their lives set free from the blight of indebtedness.
Self Help guide
Alternatively, if you feel confident enough to manage your own debt problems you can download CMA’s Self Help guide. This is a simple booklet that helps you assess your income and expenses, along with what you owe to creditors. It details how to approach your creditors to negotiate repayments and provides sample letters to send to those creditors.
The Self Help guide is in Adobe PDF format. If you do not already have Adobe Reader on your computer, you can download it for free from the Adobe website.
Money health check
The Money Advice Service have recently launched an online money planner which is designed to help everyone understand and manage their money better.
It takes about 10 minutes to answer some straightforward questions and the health check will give you a personalised action plan which identifies the top three things you can do to make the most of your money right now, and to plan for future goals.
It’s free and it’s unbiased - The Money Advice Service won’t recommend a particular product or provider or try to sell you anything.
