Stewart McCulloch: Group CEO.
Nigel Harris: Operations Director. Nigel joined the CMA team in June 2026 as Operations Director and manages the senior team. Nigel has previously worked for CAP as a Regional Leader for the South West and Wales and later as project lead on the project to bring CMA and CAP together into the CAP Group. He has been in the charity sector for over 20 years and has led a number of Christian charities and social action projects all centred on bringing hope and justice to those who experience social exclusion, disadvantage or have vulnerabilities. Nigel lives with his wife, sons and dog, a Jack Russell cross called Bruno. He attends the local Anglican church and is a worship leader. He is also a member of the Parish Council. In his ‘spare’ time you will find him tackling a DIY or gardening project, or taking Bruno for a walk on the beach or at a local beauty spot.
Becci Amos: Head of Training and Development. Becci joined the CMA team in 2020 as the Training Administrator after which she became the Training Manager. In December 2024 she succeeded the retiring John Franks in becoming CMA Chief Operating Officer, then took on the Head of Training and Development role from June 2026. Becci’s background is in outdoor leadership, she is a qualified international mountain leader and has enjoyed leading expeditions to mountain regions all around the world. Becci is an active member of her local church and a foster carer for children and young people. Becci is passionate about leading and coaching people; the Head of Training and Development role brings together her experience in outdoor leadership, training and her heart for social action. In Becci’s spare time she enjoys being outside as often as possible, biking, walking or climbing and chilling out with her dog Ned!
Steve Bolton: Policy Manager (External Affairs) & Operations Support Manager (London SE). Steve joined CMA in 2012, coming from a working background in high street and regulated financial services. He worked for some years with The Trussell Trust in parallel with his CMA post. He has been active in church life since becoming a Christian at the age of 34 (his wife had become a Christian earlier in the same year). They have two adult offspring. With a heart to serve and support others, Steve has undertaken various roles within the local community, both practically and politically. He reflects that the only certainty in life, apart from God’s presence, is the need to be prepared for change.
Kate Downward: Head Office Manager. Kate joined the CMA team in 2014 and manages Administration, Finance, Personnel, IT and Conference from our Head Office in Shrewsbury including affiliations, centre membership renewals, treasury, annual Envision conference and data management work. She has a wide range of administrative and financial experience from her work as an external auditor with the Audit Commission, auditing Local Authorities and the NHS. Kate also ran a wedding and events balloon decoration business until 2020! Kate has also served on the team at her local CMA debt advice centre in Shrewsbury. She is married with two secondary school aged children and enjoys playing bass guitar in her Church's worship band, camping and step aerobics!
Claire Daniels: Hub Manager. Claire has managed our CMA debt advice centre in Scarborough for over 12 years and has both the Certificate in Money Advice Practice and an MA in Social Welfare Law and Advice Practice. She has also been a CMA trainer for 12 years and helps to work on developing Catalyst. Claire is also a musician, loves writing devotional materials and has two fabulous teenagers.
Duncan Harkness: Specialist Support Manager & Operations Support Manager (Mid West & South Wales). Duncan is a huge motorsport fan and a keen photographer and cyclist (though not at the same time!). He is married with two children and a menagerie of pets, is a member of Institute of Money Advisers and gained a BA (Hons) degree in Advice in 2013. Duncan worked for many years in the banking industry before jumping ship and training as a debt adviser in 2003. He has worked for several charities providing money advice to clients experiencing personal debt as well as specialist advice to those who are self-employed. He has established and managed money advice services and remains a front-line adviser in his home town of Cheltenham. Duncan became OSM for the Mid West and South Wales in 2015, and particularly enjoys supporting Centre Managers and seeing them develop their own vision for money advice in their communities. In 2021 he also became Specialist Support Manager and amongst other things, gives advice and support to CMA centres in their most complex client cases.
CMA's Departmental Teams: . CMA's departmental team members
