Joining Instructions

These were emailed to all booked delegates on Friday 19th February at 5.12pm. Please check your inbox, spam and junk folders for these because they must be read, and contain the Zoom link for the conference.

If you cannot locate your Joining Instructions please email [email protected] as soon as possible.

We advise you to ensure your IT and internet arrangements are adequate, and that you can access Zoom (and have downloaded the Zoom app or Browser plug-in as detailed in your Joining Instructions) in advance of Friday's conference, as we regret that CMA cannot offer any technical support to help you on the day.

 

CMA Envision Conference 2021

We are delighted to welcome you to the CMA Envision Conference on Friday 26th February 2021 from 10am to 4.30pm - online via Zoom.

We have an exciting agenda planned, with our Keynote Speeches being delivered by Natalie Williams (Jubilee+) and Mark Kitson (The Cinnamon Network).

Natalie Williams is a former journalist who grew up in one of the most deprived areas in England, and is now working for Jubilee+. Many of you will have read Natalie's books which she co-wrote with Martin Charlesworth; 'The Myth of the Undeserving Poor', 'A Church for the Poor' and 'A Call to Act'.

Mark Kitson is a leader and consultant and his work at The Cinnamon Network involves enabling organisations to be ready to scale and partnership with others. Mark's specific areas of expertise are strategic planning, personal and team development and business model replication.

What's Your Score? Credit Reports - the ins and outs

Experian? Equifax? Transunion? Who are they, what do they do, what is the difference anyway?! A seminar looking at the detail of credit reports and how they work including some of the common pitfalls when interpreting them and how you can get the most out of them. Plenty of opportunities for questions or bringing your own queries from reports you've dealt with.

Seminar 2: Martin Bethell

CMA Advising in Scotland Going Forward

This Seminar will be looking at Approved Money Advisers, Scottish National Standards, Connect Centres and Money Management Training in Scotland, with time for your questions.

Seminar 3: Rory Sanders

Debt Relief Orders…10 years old and counting!

We will go through a brief introduction for those new to DROs including the application process. Then we will explore all aspects of a DRO and what you as an adviser (or an Approved Intermediary) need to know and be aware of, so as to be able to advise your client correctly and completely. There are likely to be lots of questions and we will ensure that there is ample time for Q&A.

Seminar 4: Barry Cooper

Fundraising in a Covid world

This seminar will cover three sections; What has changed - now fundraising has become more digital in a covid world. New opportunities - now new funds are available. Same challenges - how to prepare and write your bids and preparing to capture outcomes. There will be lots of time for your questions.

Recordings and Using Zoom

Many of our conference sessions, including seminars, will be recorded and uploaded into Centre Resources on the CMA website following the conference for all CMA Centres to access. So don't worry about missing out - you'll have a chance to catch up if you are unable to attend.

Zoom is a meetings application that can be used on a desktop computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone. It's free to download and use, and you'll be able to access our conference providing your device has a camera or webcam, and microphone.

Download Zoom by going to https://zoom.us on your device. Follow the instructions to download the application to your computer. Once it has downloaded you'll be able to use the Zoom link you've been sent (or a Meeting ID Number and Passcode) to join the CMA Conference. Consider a practice using Zoom in your centre team beforehand if it's new to you, so you're ready for the conference.
